      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 12 months. I interviewed at Microsoft (Redmond, WA) in Sept 2017

      Interview

I interviewed for the FRP program with Microsoft. The first round consisted of a phone call with the manager of the program, and from that they flew you to Redmond for the superday. I had morning interviews, 45 minutes 4 back-to-back and then lunch. Was comparable to many superdays, although prepare for questions that take you off guard.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Microsoft (Redmond, WA) in Feb 2017

      Interview

I did a resume drop, one 15 minute phone interview, followed by a four round in person super day at Microsoft Redmond campus. The interviews were very relaxed, at least two of them were mainly personality fit, asking scenario based questions and poking at my resume. One interviewer mentioned my resume was fairly technical, and so he would ask me mainly behavioral questions, which was cool. Since this is a rotation program, they will also have current analysts in the program there to shepherd you to and from your interviews and to hang out with you in down time. If you ask them for advice it will be to be yourself and that interviewers are not trying to trip you up, this is completely true. Just show you are knowledgeable, able to learn, and can be relaxed in stressful settings and you should be fine.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      1. My favorite Excel function and why 2. Teach me a difficult concept 3. Tell me about a time you failed and other basic behaviorals 4. I think they may have asked about Gross Margin 5. How would you estimate sales for X product over the next Xtime
