SAP has a five-round interview process and I had completed three rounds. Unfortunately, my experience has been quite disappointing:
Round 1 – Two coding problems ranging from easy to medium difficulty. These were reasonable and tested foundational coding skills.
Round 2 – An online HR interview that felt highly disengaged. The HR representative barely asked any questions, mainly observed silently, and typed responses without much interaction. It came across as disorganized and unprofessional, making the experience uncomfortable.
Round 3 – A live online coding session with one easy and one hard LeetCode problem. The bigger issue, however, was that the one conducting the interview seemed unfamiliar with basic technologies. For instance, when I mentioned about a Database (I removed the db name as somehow it got flagged), he had no idea what they were, even after I explained them. It was very concerning that someone in a technical leadership position lacked knowledge of widely used databases and cloud technologies.
Scheduling Issues:
The scheduling process was extremely frustrating. My interviews were rescheduled three times, all at the last minute without any explanation or apology. The AI scheduler also sent frequent reminder emails about the interview, which added unnecessary stress to the process.
Overall, SAP’s interview process felt poorly organized, unprofessional, and stressful. Given the company's reputation, I expected a much more respectful and competent experience for candidates.
