I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Uber in Mar 2025
Interview
My interview process with this company started off well – everything was smooth until after the final case discussion. That’s when things took a disappointing turn.
After completing all the steps, the recruiter took unusually long to respond to my emails and calls. I understand people can be busy, but it is literally a recruiter's job to keep candidates informed, especially at such a critical stage.
Eventually, I received a call where the recruiter congratulated me and told me I would be receiving an offer. Just one hour later, he called again to say he had made a mistake – he hadn’t reviewed all the hiring managers’ scorecards and one of them was apparently not that positive. As a result, he could no longer extend the offer.
I was honestly shocked. Instead of being transparent and owning the mistake, he tried to reassure me by saying he would "try to push for negotiations" since the overall feedback was still positive. What followed was a month-long stretch of silence, vague promises and zero clarity. In the end, I was told there were no other options.
This experience was deeply unprofessional and disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend engaging with this company based on how they handle candidates – especially after reaching such an advanced stage in the process. Clear communication and respect for people’s time should be the bare minimum.
