      Community Support Representative (Remote) Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Uber in June 2014

      Interview

I applied online through the company website by submitting a resume and answering a question about my perception of what an exceptional customer service experience entails. Almost a month later, I was invited to do a fun assessment designed to gauge my writing skills and style. Passing the assessment landed me a Skype interview which took place about five days after submitting my answers. The interview lasted approximately 7 minutes. I was asked my availability and my comfort level with decision making. I was also asked to describe a time when I went above and beyond for a customer. The questions were not at all difficult. I was called three days after my Skype interview with a job offer.

      Question 1

The questions asked were pretty straight forward. I was asked to describe how I handled a disgruntled customer. Most of the questions were about customer service experiences I provided in previous positions with other companies.

      Interview

I applied through a form on the website and received a written assignment due within 48 hours shortly after. The assignment had straightforward CS questions about customer problems, troubleshooting, prioritizing issues, and how you would handle a crisis. Two days later I was offered a Skype/phone interview. The interview was pretty easygoing and lasted around 20 minutes. Most questions were about job/culture fit and knowledge of the company. I received an offer the following day. Final enrollment on the support website began several weeks later and requires filling out the usual employment forms, having your ID notarized, and a background check on education/employment/references.
