I applied online. I interviewed at Uber (San Francisco, CA) in May 2022
Interview
Applied through Linkedin. Recruiter reached out and scheduled tech screen. Recruiter sent me email that in the first interview I may ask questions about the role, responsibilities, any challenges etc. I had lot of questions.
It was one of the worst interviews I had. The interviewer didn't introduce himself, didn't give time to ask questions. Asked me to introduce myself. After my introduction, the interviewer asked me about any challenging task I worked so far. I explained one of the challenging tasks, which my team and I think it is complex and saves few millions of $$. After listening to my explanation, the interviewer asked "Is it challenging for you?". I felt little sarcastic. Next, the interviewer asked me to get into coding part and pasted the question in codesignal. I read through the question and I had few followup questions. When I asked those questions, the interviewer asked me to read the question again instead of answering me. I felt little disrespectful. Anyways, I explained my approach and started my solution. To my confession, I was not able to finish the implementation on time. I thought the interviewer may give some time towards the end for any questions I may have wrt company, role etc. But, the interviewer ended the interview abruptly saying "Ok. Time is up. Bye"
May be the interviewer was having a bad day. During the interview, sometimes I was smiling and answering questions, but there was no smile on interviewer's face.
