Position Summary

The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, security, and performance optimization of the company's database systems. The successful candidate will ensure the integrity, availability, and reliability of critical healthcare and business data while supporting ongoing technology initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, monitor, and maintain database management systems.
• Ensure database performance, availability, and security across all environments.
• Perform routine database backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery planning.
• Monitor database systems and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Optimize database structures, queries, and indexing strategies.
• Implement data integrity, security, and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with software developers and IT teams to support application development and deployment.
• Develop and maintain database documentation and operational procedures.
• Manage user permissions and database access controls.
• Support database upgrades, migrations, and system enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Database Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
• Strong experience with SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or other enterprise database platforms.
• Knowledge of database backup, recovery, replication, and performance tuning techniques.
• Experience with cloud database environments and infrastructure.
• Understanding of database security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Database certifications from Microsoft, Oracle, AWS, or related providers.
• Experience working within healthcare, pharmaceutical, or medical technology environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of automation and scripting languages.
