Pros

Pay differential for night shift is nice and my coworkers were generally great.

Cons

High turnover causes the vast majority of problems here. When there's a revolving door of people, you have to constantly retrain new people and have the remaining employees pick up the slack. I can confidently say that half of the shifts I worked went overtime because of this. New people also have to take up a lot of responsibility very quickly, and I know this because two new hires quit within two weeks because of how much they were being expected to do after only a few days of training. I ended up having to quit due to health complications. If you can't handle the night shift, please look elsewhere.

Pros

With how fast the company is growing there is so much space and room to move up and learn new skills. The coworkers, work life balance, benefits, pet discounts at the vet, free therapy, and 401k are a just a few of the numerous benefits that make this place truly great.

Cons

So many improvements made to our benefits like lowering our health insurance contributions so that I may afford a better plan, really takes away from any negatives if there is any.

Pros

-Exposure to many laboratory techniques and instruments with very little experience required. -Working with specimens from various animal species was interesting. -Night shift schedule worked well with attending school during the day. -Can easily stand apart from your coworkers with a decent work ethic and desire to learn.

Cons

-Because very little experience is required, you are often trained by people with limited knowledge. -Observed a lot of questionable lab practices. Not regulated in the same ways that human diagnostic labs or pharmaceutical companies are expected to be. -The longer I worked there the more I worried I was limiting my career growth if I wanted to move to more regulated companies. -Night shifts and weekends required. -Pay rate much lower than similar jobs at other labs

Pros

Good money but company doesn’t wait to pay for overtime but makes multimillion a year!!

Cons

Bad management Overwhelming amount of work and they expect you to be done by 5:30am Horrible coworkers Company doesn’t want to pay for overtime Everyone is on drugs or alcohol People call off everyday but when the hard worker calls off they get punished and fired Everyone talks bad about each other and people don’t work as a team. HR is the worst and aren’t there to help you when needed. Nothing but convicts are hired After work people are in the parking lot drinking, smoking and listening to ghetto music blasting loud. Supervisor act fake and are ready to sell you out at any given time. Worst place to work at!! Don’t bother with this place it’s life draining and you’ll work with some of the most ghetto unethical people in the world especially in the Chicago lab! There is no work/ life balance at this job

Pros

- Being able to listen to music/podcasts - Vet discounts at VCA animal hospital, banfield, bluepearl - Shift diff for night shift people and working on weekends - Accommodating if you are still in school

Cons

- Management sucks at communicating with employees - Not knowing if you are going to work by yourself or with someone (it's nice sometimes to work by yourself, but on busy days when management knows they are busy will leave you hanging) - Machines not working that well (which impacts your daily duties and can make you stay longer than usual) - 30 minute lunch break and hard to even take 10 minute breaks when they want you to meet turn around time - You don't really know your coworkers
