Pros

This is only a pro for slackers: between attending meetings, talks, and events, one could get away with doing very little.

Cons

Mental atrophy from non-technical and unrigorous nature of work. Most "research" involves purely qualitative interviews and writing verbose reports and decks with no productive value-add. Lack of purpose and direction. I overheard a colleague saying that they had no idea what they were doing here, or the purpose behind their projects -- and they had been working here for years. Poor quality of employees. Employees have no real skills, or their skills are not being fully utilised. I was really appalled at the quality of people, they're uninspired and frivolous and only concerned with appearing busy.

Pros

If you're quiet, you can get away with disappearing all the time.

Cons

CLC is the assisted living home for the career paralysed. You join thinking you'll have overseas opportunities and a broad experience only to realise it's a lie. Those are brochure stuff, it isn't true at all. Management range from selfish to downright abusive. You're expected to give your all for a treadmill-like existence. Routine work is pushed around and the good people who do it are deemed incapable, even when their presence is keeping the company afloat. Expect emotionally volatile bosses who will not hesitate to interrogate you about your social media posts or your social life. You could put in extra hours etc only for management to tell you, you're not good enough simply because they don't like you. You could do the work they tell you to, and then have them ask you why you're doing that. You'll have no idea what else to do. It's a lot like being bullied daily by old hags and senile men. Work here to experience the twilight years of your career. Expect silent tears of resentment and a lifetime of regret.

Pros

Located in town - no shortage of food options for your daily meals. Sheltered path from TP station so you are covered when it rains, literally.

Cons

Snr management takes a scattergun approach to assigning jobs. You get assigned whatever, regardless of your skills or preference. Management does not remember if you do a good job, a bad job, or do a job at all. Hey, this might be a good thing after all! Depending on the flavor of the day, unless you are lucky to be scattergunned to a high-profile project, you might be doing a lot of work for nothing. Layers of senior management cannot effectively manage each other's expectations, much less those under their purview so this results in a lack of direction; like a wobbly pyramid top that is threatening to take out as many blocks along the way when it topples over. Please don't do this okay.
