Pros

Great company Takes care of employees Pays more than average, demands more than average Stable business Two main businesses -- small business (quick books) and tax (turbotax) Environmentally and socially conscious

Cons

In spite of many efforts, could not grow new business initiatives Spent millions trying to grow new ideas, but nothing to show for Acquired many companies and subsequently sold them off as none of them panned out -- with nothing to show for the time, money and effort spent Has desperate need to show growth to prop the stock price -- however none of the new initiatives or acquisitions yielded anything in the past 10 years -- so the existing customers (by price hikes) and employees (with reduced benefit and longer hours) are squeezed Work-Life balance non-existent in tax business unit, whether it is tax time or not Once in-while "working all through night" to prove ones chops, is mandatory No matter how much notice one gives, taking a long vacation (2-3 weeks) will get him/her in hot water

Pros

Benefits are amazing, medical insurance, vision and dental. Company match on 401K and volunteer time off.

Cons

They keep making decisions to outsource jobs to contract workers who don't share the same value in training or customer care. Oh they say they do but when you catch the listening to music so loud you can't hear the customer, or literally snoring on the line they can't do anything because of the way the contracts are set up. It is up to the contract company and the contract company just needs warm bodies. They did not even supply enough people doing our busiest season this year to co or the shifts that were required in the contract. So good luck with that. They will always eventually lay you off.
