Pros

-great exposure to a variety of work; cool projects -decent year over year raises

Cons

-culture of leadership enjoys watching you suffer and work insane hours -abrasive and inappropriate to females in general and culture that thinks that is humorous -not possible for me to feel good ethically/morally with how they treat people and conduct work or "work-related" activities -because of bureaucracy there are limits (you may not experience in other consulting firms) such as being tagged to a start class, not seeing projects through but being used to plug in here and there, little room to differentiate yourself and your compensation (bonuses are minimal anyway)

Pros

You get to work with an awesome, highly resilient group of local peers in the advisory practice. The KPMG brand still holds value, but the internal team dynamics have become incredibly fractured.

Cons

We have outsourced 80%+ of our Risk Advisory work, leaving onshore seniors with massive gaps in their experience. As a manager, I am stuck doing senior-level work because I typically have only one or zero local seniors or associates on my teams. The best leaders have already resigned because this model prevents actual management and mentoring. Also, it might take you 30+ years to become partner in Risk Advisory, if at all.
