Pros

1. You get to say you worked in IT at a Big Four, until people ask how it was and you awkwardly smile to hide the trauma. 2. The brand name still carries some weight on your CV. 3. Some colleagues are talented and supportive, it is a shame that they are all trying to leave. 4. Fast-paced environment that teaches you how to work under pressure and under watchful eyes.

Cons

1. Suggestions for improvement are welcomed in theory, ignored in practice. Raising concerns gets you labeled 'not aligned' - which is a polite way of saying 'stop asking questions' 2. Professional growth opportunities exists, but in reality, the progression depends more on politics than performance. 3. 'Trust' is a word thrown around a lot, though the working environment says otherwise. 4. Focus tends to lean more on control than collaboration, which limits team morale and innovation.

Pros

You get to work with an awesome, highly resilient group of local peers in the advisory practice. The KPMG brand still holds value, but the internal team dynamics have become incredibly fractured.

Cons

We have outsourced 80%+ of our Risk Advisory work, leaving onshore seniors with massive gaps in their experience. As a manager, I am stuck doing senior-level work because I typically have only one or zero local seniors or associates on my teams. The best leaders have already resigned because this model prevents actual management and mentoring. Also, it might take you 30+ years to become partner in Risk Advisory, if at all.
