Coming from the BDC perspective, the BDC title is actually telemarketing. So don't be too excited thinking you are doing any "business development". Your job is just to pick up phone and call. Not much of a rocket science there. They hire graduates in pretense of learning sales, but you are basically cheap labor to pick up call, as career progression is really difficult here. From telemarketing, you basically move to another telemarketing role + sales closure. The BDC is constantly at risk of losing their value since there's not much ROI coming from this business unit, since their job is just demand gen. Also there are lots of office politics going on, since everyone needs to keep their job. While doing your job, you need to be able to manage politics as well.
