I worked at Oracle full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Bigger responsibilities from the beginning.
    - Peer to peer learning and knowledge sharing is the best part.
    - Lots of learning opportunities in the different fields but you need to take initiative.
    - Well paid and transparent payroll system.

    Cons

    - Only Oracle products used and its hard to learn other technologies unless working with clients.
    - You need to initiate things if you want to keep learning.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work

I worked at Oracle (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Oracle is a very professionally run organisation with strong incumbency in traditional business lines. Oracle can be progressive in wider markets like Marketing and UX, although can struggle here.

    Cons

Can be very internally focused instead of Customer-focused; also bureaucratic, cumbersome, slow to adapt to change. Although noting that Oracle is capable of change.

    Advice to Management

    Be more customer focused.

I have been working at Oracle full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-Best corporate health insurance in the market!
-frequent events in office and out
-employee event co ordinator is doing a fantastic job trying to improve morale and make things fun
    -parking
    -flexible work
-some really cool products and services

    Cons

-customers hate us but like our products
-difficult to sell because of our bad reputation
-crappy sales compensation plans with very unfair rules and red tape. Oracle will do whatever they can to NOT pay your comms which adds to the toxic culture
    -senior leadership have no idea
-territories always changing and no quota relief if you’ve made a sale or about to close a sale and your territory or customer is moved to another rep which is occurring frequently, us reps are bullied by managers sacking people who fight to keep a customer in their territory.
    -managers have favourites
-oracle makes teaming agreements too hard, much red tape and quite frankly the worst process I’ve ever experienced
-some reps are not straight in the office, managers are turning a blind eye. The coffee isn’t that great!!!!!!!
-so many good people leaving or have left and it’s no wonder. At oracle everyone is replaceable and individual contributors are NOT respected
-pay rises....what’s that???? I could meet my quota if you didn’t keep changing my territory so my performance review could actually maybe warrant a pay rise if you gave me the chance.
-too many young hot shots with little experience in oracle direct who haven’t sold a thing yet they prance around the place like they are million dollar reps....trying to give ME advice with my deals.... sorry champ sell something first then talk to me little man!
-oracle direct (ODP as they like to call it) the biggest failure in the history of the numerous reorgs we’ve had at Oracle.
-toxic work culture, backstabbing a lot of it, whinging, complaining, toxic managers
-some females in the office are working their way to the top, just wear a short skirt, tight pants or dress and you won’t have any issues.
-good people are not recognised. you have to play the office politics game,if you don’t you simply won’t survive
-integrity matters campaign- was a nice thing but integrity it doesn’t exist in oracle

    Advice to Management

-make it easier for us to sell, We have too many policies and crappy processes hindering our chances
-if you assign us territory let us actually keep it, especially if we have deals progressing allow us the chance to meet our quotas
-make it easier for us to do cross line of business deals, incentivise reps to team
-bring back the old oracle direct days when field and OD worked together ODP is an embarrassment!
-mandatory drug testing would also be a fantastic idea!
-do something about the culture you know there are issues, fix them and get rid of the toxic managers and staff, stop just accepting things the way they are!
-internal recruitment takes too long and I should receive a pay rise if I move to a higher grade/better job. It’s a joke that we don’t get a raise in remuneration if we move internally especially if that role is a grade change that warrants a pay rise! There is NO incentive to move roles with this unfair policy no wonder why good people leave and you hire externally and pay crazy wages when you could have kept a perfectly suited employee given them the raise and saved yourself the recruitment process externally.
-managers your in too many meetings

I have been working at Oracle full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - You can really drive your career in any direction. You have to do it; no one hands you anything, but you'll get supported at every step.
    - Everyone gets it's a big American corporate and that it's not perfect, but there are a lot of smart people here who are more than happy to help when you get lost / confused.
    - I've had the best mentoring and coaching in my career at Oracle. It's not been through a formal program, but whenever I've asked for a senior leaders time, I've never been told 'no' and all have been generous with their time and advice.
    - I get to work on really interesting programs and initiatives! And many of those programs I've developed, proposed, refined and delivered with full support.
    - My manager is great.

    Cons

    - Morale is down right now and has been for a long time, people moan and it doesn't change anything. That's why I'm writing this review, because I'm happy.
    - It is overly complicated.
    - The bonus scheme is mythical
    - Annual salary review don't exist*
*but pay rises do, they're just not annual. Make your case or get a promotion/new role and it's possible.

    Pros

Private Health Insurance is an excellent benefit. They offer Bupa health insurance with 90% extras cover. Which is offered to all employees.

    Cons

Hard to get salary increase within the organisation. Oracle do not offer annual increases and often when moving positions the employees salary remains the same.
