    I worked at Hays full-time

    Pros

Great team culture, great incentives, celebrate success. The vibe in the office is great, it is always loud, everyone is talkative and there are so many great people.

    Cons

High KPI sales environment with very minimal salaries and LONG hours.

    Advice to Management

Better salaries and hours will encourage staff to not only stay, but also attract better new staff. It is very much minimal wage until management level, no matter what commission you earn.

I have been working at Hays full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Great training, large variety of industries you can recruit in.

    Cons

Too many to list Unrealistic expectations of new starters. If you don't fit in with the team they will preformance manage you out of the business. Lack of experience recruiters. They promote to keep staff. Most managers have very minimal experience in recruitment. They are more interested in naming and shaming people for not meeting KPIs.

    Advice to Management

Stop putting people down for not meeting targets talk with them and work with the not everyone is a robot.

I have been working at Hays full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Hays looks after you if you buy into the job and the culture. The Associates program is truly exceptional and I found it very nurturing. The training is excellent. If you actually do your job the 'micromanagement' many speak of doesn't exist.

    Cons

There is a 'one size fits all' approach to many of the methods and practices taught at Hays, it's not desk specific which can be frustrating. Some consultants are placed on desks they are very clearly not suited for - again, reminiscent of the blanket approach (bums on seats for productivity).

    Advice to Management

Management are doing a great job in helping Hays evolve with the rest of the market. However, definitely try a little harder at learning every desk/industry. Not every desk is Office Support.

I have been working at Hays full-time for more than 9 years

    Pros

Clearly defined career path Supportive Environment Minimal Micro Management

    Cons

Dated and unreliable IT infrastructure Culture can become too toxic/political at times Low base Salary and uncompetitive commissions

    Advice to Management

Directors and senior management should be less dismissive of how unreliable our IT have become The amount of hours lost due to phone and server issues has increased to an almost daily occurrence Very impressed with change in direction of our culture of celebration - less alcohol focused and more focus on health and well being - great idea!

      I worked at Hays full-time

      Pros

You get to work with lovely consultants. That makes your job enjoyable.

      Cons

      - I received “zero” training, they tend to withhold information so they could use it against you later. Every time I asked her to show me something, I was abruptly told that they are time poor, so I am not sure how I was meant to learn. - Favouritism was appalling, I was told that I need to help others but they don’t have to help me! - Bullying is very common, I was told by a manager when an employee and a manager...
