Pros

- A lot of great coworkers - fully remote - unlimited PTO

Cons

After a large acquisition and merger earlier this year (2023), Unlock is now the parent company / brain child of a handful of smaller healthcare marketing companies. Leadership continues to ignore the concerns and feedback of lower level teams and employees. They refuse to hire any more support staff while actively bringing on VP-level employees. The workload has increased immensely over the last year for current employees without so much as a whisper of salary increases or bonuses. Raises are NOT based on merit. Leadership is very cagey about explaining how to move upward. Everyone remains frozen in their current positions because the company can't afford to move anyone in the current structure. The workload is bursting at the seams and continues to be piled onto the current teams with no regard to man hours. The workload is also not evenly shared, so God forbid you are one of the more efficient team members - you'll just see your workload double while the less-reliable team members maintain the minimum workload. When I was hired a few years ago, they touted all the opportunity for growth, pay increases, and upward mobility. I have had glowing performance reviews year over year, but have been passed up for raises every time it's brought up. I'm not the only one. My coworkers are not afraid to discuss salaries, and it is very inconsistent across the board.

Pros

Unlimited PTO that maybe you can use to vanish into the night

Cons

Incompetent leadership, terrible culture, no clear way to grow or earn more money, siloed teams Here are some things I witnessed/experienced: - Unlock unveiled new branding that were reminiscent of Hitler. Employees offered "anonymous" feedback that apparently wasn't anonymous because they then were rounded up and yelled at for being honest. - Smart and capable colleagues were fired and shut out of the system with no warning, and Unlock had zero plans for how their work would be handled. Some colleagues were then hired back on a contract basis. Explaining this to clients was embarrassing. - If they weren't laid off, many employees quit to escape. Lots of clients also started leaving because they could sense things weren't right. Everyone else was left to pick up the wreckage. - Instead of offering reassurance to employees who still worked there, Unlock leadership forced a ridiculous NSA onto them to try to control them. There were multiple rounds of edits to the NSA after employees raised their concerns (although the edits barely addressed the problems), then the CEO sent out an apology video for how it was handled. But in 2025, employees who still hadn't signed the NSA were fired. - Unlock fired a woman after she told them she was being sexually harassed at work. - Unlock CEO berates and gaslights employees. He is not good at his job, which is probably why he's dealing with multiple lawsuits.

Private Equity Disgrace

Pros

Great benefits. Unlimited PTO (not really), great health, dental and vision.

Cons

Do not believe these corporate shells praising this firm in recent reviews. It's all phony and corny. I would run the opposite direction. This company is sinking. Leadership/C-Suite are a bunch of bots that appear once a month to give ridiculous updates filled with empty promises and lies. In March 2024, the company hosted a lavish, expensive, ridiculous Employee Retreat where the company paid for everyone (300+ employees) to fly to and from Colorado, stay in a 5 star resort and drink the Private Equity Cool-Aid! Just 2 months later, the company announced layoffs to 13% the staff. If you look at the trends of private equity firms, more will be coming Q4. The people are fake, management is cruel, and for what? A bottom line. Don't work here. They don't care about you and you will be miserable. The CEO is a prime example of what's wrong with this company. Edwards is a joke. He hired on all his PE board member's kids as interns to present the appearance of functionality. He's a joke. This company is a joke. Run fast my friend.
