“If there’s one thing you need to know about personal brand, it’s this: people can’t buy your brand if you don’t know what you’re selling.” That was the standout message from our latest Link & Learn session with Jennifer Holloway, personal branding specialist, speaker and author. She shared practical advice to sharpen your brand and make your impact visible: 👉 Define both “what” and “who.” Get clear on what you bring (skills, strengths, results) and who you bring (values, motivations, behaviors). 👉 Turn “drink” into your “orange juice” unique selling point. Push beyond a generic claim (e.g., "problem-solving skills") by asking "what do you mean by that?", and again, until you reach the distinctive nuance that makes your offering concrete and ownable. 👉 Make your impact visible. Great performance is essential, but personal brand and exposure carry far more weight. As Jennifer referenced, “doing business without visibility is like winking in the dark: you know what you’re doing, but nobody else does”. 👉 Flex your “brand width”. Dial your delivery up and down to suit the context without losing authenticity - it’s about adapting, not pretending to be someone else. At BAT, we’re committed to helping our people grow with clarity, confidence and purpose. Sessions like this empower colleagues to own their story and thrive. Thinking about your next step?
