Logistics, Inventory & Compliance Support Officer is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day movement of incoming and outgoing materials to ensure uninterrupted site operations. This role works closely with transport providers, suppliers, production personnel, and the commercial team to maintain inventory levels, support production requirements, and manage logistics activities safely and efficiently.
The position also provides administrative and compliance support to site operations, including inventory management & purchasing, supplier coordination, risk management, regulatory reporting, and visitor management.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Inventory Management
- Coordinate inbound deliveries of feedstocks, raw materials, and consumables.
- Schedule and manage outbound deliveries of finished goods and by-products.
- Liaise with transport providers to ensure timely collection and delivery of products.
- Monitor inventory levels and production requirements, adjusting delivery schedules as necessary.
- Conduct regular stocktakes and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Support the development and implementation of logistics strategies
Supplier & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain effective supplier and carrier relationships.
- Work collaboratively with production teams, drivers, contractors, and external stakeholders.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for receival, storage, and dispatch activities.
- Train site personnel in receival and dispatch processes.
- Maintain and troubleshoot logistics, loading, and inventory management systems, including Omega/DKI.
- Implement task management and communication processes and prepare operational data for management review.
Compliance, Safety & Administration
- Support compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements.
- Maintain the site Risk Register and Safety Database.
- Coordinate site inductions and visitor access requirements.
- Procure products, parts, consumables, and services as required.
- Provide general administrative and office support to site operations.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Demonstrated experience in logistics, inventory management, supply chain coordination, or operations support.
- Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience coordinating transport providers and managing supplier relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work effectively within a small, collaborative team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Desirable
- Experience in manufacturing, chemical processing, industrial operations, or bulk liquids logistics.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems
- Experience maintaining compliance, safety, or quality management records.
- Understanding of environmental and regulatory requirements relevant to industrial operations.
- Experience developing operational processes, databases, and reporting systems.
