    Pros

The company appears to make an effort to support work life balance. Progressive attitude.

    Cons

I am concerned about some of the business decisions - some of the senior execs seem out of touch with staff and customers.

I have been working at Suncorp Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Really flexible work arrangements with decent benefits for staff (discounted insurance, banking, loans and a variety of retail discounts).
Work at a team level is really good.

    Cons

Salary is a little less than what you would get elseware. There is a seemingly constant churn of contractors and restructures happen far too often. CIO seems very against Agile, which creates tensions.
Funding structures and management politics makes things difficult when trying to react/enact change.

    Advice to Management

Sort out the funding model for technology teams.
Remove the red tape so we can actually react quickly to the market changes.
Improve communication up and down the management chain.

    Pros

Encourage new ideas regardless of your job title.

    Cons

Too many people working from home kills the office atmosphere.

I worked at Suncorp Group full-time

    Pros

Great workplace, flexible working and good people

    Cons

Office politics, friendships trump output in some cases

    Advice to Management

Listen up to feedback of employees more and hold management to more account to deliver action than just talk/present.

I have been working at Suncorp Group full-time

    Pros

Provides great benefits like flex days, volunteering leave, parental leave in addition to annual leave. Also open to negotiating working from home a day a week and flexible start and finish hours during the week.

    Cons

Has more than 4 CEOs (overall and of different areas), which leads to a lack of strategic alignment. Very poor company culture with poor employee engagement results, repetitive restructuring (at least once a year in most areas) and therefore a lack of career progression opportunities. Very cost focussed, not growth focused company and employees are seen as a cost rather than valuable capital.

    Advice to Management

My advice to the Board would be to remove most of the senior leadership team and the MD & CEO.

I have been working at Suncorp Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Amazing work life balance, encouraged to work from home.
Team and Manager/Executive Manager are phenomenal
    Good location n Sydney
Wider team and stakeholders all nice, most people (95%) are just genuinely nice here.
Some phenomenal female EM's - strong and fierce
    Usual banking benefits.

    Cons

Very archaic in some of the processes and technology
Encountered a few moments where hints of thinly disguised misogyny have come through.
Hard to find additional career opportunities, but you are empowered to and move on if you can and want.

    Advice to Management

Perhaps review the need for some middle managers who's roles may not add any value. Also, proper market due diligence on salary otherwise you will have a lot of churn, some of the salaries are not on par with experience, role requirements or general market (doing like for like comparison)

  10. "Low pay, troublesome middle management and loads of slack colleags that you must do the work for"

I worked at Suncorp Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work from home, everything else is average or below average even

    Cons

Low pay, micromanagement, treated like a child, lazy workforce - you will be punished if you finish your own work by having the work of other incompetent staffers heaped on you.

    Advice to Management

pay rises for all (you can afford it), no micromanagement and distribute a fair and even workload.
