Bring your passion for audio and storytelling to one of Australia’s most diverse media teams.
SBS Audio is home to more than 60 languages, 8 national radio networks and a world of digital platforms - from live radio and streaming to podcasts and on-demand content. We’re looking for an Audio Operator who’ll help deliver this rich mix of content to millions of Australians every day.
This role is classified as Level 2 (annual base salary $70,286- $ 91, 813) under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement. The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.
About the Role
Join Melbourne's Audio Operations Team and keep content moving across 8 national radio networks, podcasts, and streaming platforms. You'll provide hands-on technical support across live studio production, podcast recording, and digital playout - making sure every broadcast lands perfectly.
You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
A passion for audio and digital content - You're curious about where the industry is heading, excited by emerging technology, and ideally have some experience (or strong interest) in digital video production.
A collaborative mindset - You work well with others and know how to navigate cross-functional teams.
Technical confidence - You're comfortable operating broadcast equipment and familiar with audio and digital production workflows. Experience in radio, TV, or digital is a real advantage.
Clear, calm communication - You can translate technical complexity for non-technical people and stay cool when things don't go to plan. You solve problems before they become crises.
