Your role
As a Senior Client Liaison Representative (SCLR), you will play a critical role as a first point of contact for victims of violent crime, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across NSW.
You will provide culturally respectful, trauma-informed support, helping individuals and families access the information, services and assistance they need during difficult times.
This role contributes to improving outcomes and accessibility for Aboriginal communities through Victims Services and the Aboriginal Contact Line.
What you’ll do
This position will be the first point of contact on the Aboriginal Contact Line for Victims Services. The SCLR is required to act with professionalism, objectivity and integrity, which includes:
Work within a team, taking ownership of a trauma-informed client experience and providing first-contact resolution where possible.
Respond to inbound calls, delivering culturally safe experiences, while achieving key performance indicators and performance targets.
Display calmness, composure and resilience when dealing with distressed or upset people and their representatives.
What we’re looking for
Demonstrated ability to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients in a culturally safe, respectful and appropriate way.
Ability to work in a culturally safe, trauma-informed way when providing services and support to victims of violent crime.
Availability to work between 9:00am–5:00pm in line with the Victims Access Line, including supporting the Aboriginal Contact Line which provides a culturally appropriate pathway for Aboriginal clients.
Ability to maintain self-wellbeing in an environment that exposes staff to information that is sensitive and confronting.
Understanding of the needs, experiences and barriers faced by Aboriginal people accessing services.
As an Identified role, this position is open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons
