THE ROLE:
We are seeking a Data Analyst (APS6) to play a key role in the delivery of TRA’s core analytical outputs and publication writing. The role is hands on and analytical, working closely with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders to ensure robust analysis and clear communication of insights.
This role suits someone who enjoys working with data, takes ownership of analytical tasks, and can translate complex analysis into clear, usable insights for a non technical audience.

Duties Include:
- The processing, analysis and release of major tourism data releases, including data dashboards, publications and annual reports
- Production of analytical outputs that explain not just what the data show, but why it matters
- Query responses from internal and external stakeholders, requiring a thorough understanding of Tourism Research Australia (TRA) datasets and available information
- Working collaboratively with the team at Austrade, contracted agencies, state and territory governments and a range of external stakeholders to understand and deliver on data and research priorities
- Communicating outputs clearly and effectively through written reports to senior managers, publications, and via data visualisations
- Effectively contributing to the delivery of long-term projects and short-term commitments
- Contributing to an inclusive and effective team culture focussed on continuous learning, evaluation and improvement of skills, processes and outcomes.
- Assisting in project management of TRA deliverables and publications
