The Roles
The Education Officer roles play a pivotal part in supporting the planning, implementation, and evaluation of specialist teaching and learning services aligned with the Department’s strategic direction. The roles require knowledge on whole-school approaches, curriculum knowledge, and proven effective teaching and learning pedagogies to work collaboratively across the division, regions, and business units, to provide a teaching perspective and contributing to the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of system-wide educational reform programs, projects, and strategies aligned with the Department’s priorities.
It involves providing subject matter expertise, analysing performance data, and preparing high-level reports and briefings for the Executive Director, Director General and the Minister. The positions also support system-wide initiatives and reform programs by facilitating integrated service delivery, consulting with stakeholders, and contributing to the design and implementation of innovative, context-responsive solutions. This facilitates opportunities for teachers to access practical support that drives continuous improvement in education across Western Australia.
Eligibility to register, or current registration with the Teacher Registration Board is a requirement of this role.
