As a Software Engineer- Analytics joining Medibank, you will play a key role in
building and delivering high-quality analytics and digital technology solutions that help Medibank better understand customer behaviour and improve experiences across web and app platforms.
Your impact?
Own and evolve the analytics repository in GitHub, including the data layer structure that feeds our analytics tools.
Design, build and maintain data layer specifications and ensure implementations match the agreed technical specs.
Manage consent and privacy configuration through OneTrust, ensuring tracking respects user consent and meets privacy obligations.
Partner with feature squads to enable self-serve analytics — providing the tooling, documentation, standards and support they need to do their own implementation work confidently.
Troubleshoot data quality and tracking issues across web and app, working through browser dev tools, network inspection and platform debuggers.
Contribute to the standards, principles and documentation that keep our platform consistent and maintainable.
Design, build and maintain analytics and software solutions that are reliable, scalable and easy to maintain
Work across the full development lifecycle—from understanding requirements through to build, testing and deployment
Implement and enhance analytics tools (e.g. Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, FullStory, Delacon, Emplifi, SimilarWeb) and data layers across digital platforms
Contribute to improving ways of working, engineering standards and analytics practices across the team
Key skills/strengths:
Strong JavaScript (ES6+), plus solid HTML, CSS and DOM knowledge — this is the core of data layer and tagging work.
Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise digital analytics platform (Adobe Analytics and/or GA4).
Experience with a tag management system (e.g. Adobe Experience Platform Tags/Launch, Google Tag Manager or Tealium).
Practical understanding of data layer design and how it drives analytics tooling.
Comfort with Git and GitHub — branching, pull requests, code review and version control as part of your day-to-day.
Strong debugging skills using browser dev tools, network inspection (e.g. Charles/Proxy) and analytics debuggers.
A solid grasp of digital analytics concepts — events, conversions, attribution and data quality.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across both technical and business requirements
Comfortable working in agile teams and collaborating with a range of stakeholders
Curiosity, adaptability and a mindset focused on continuous improvement
