Pros

Good for juniors, because juniors are naive and want to work hard. If you're a recruitment consultant with experience - you're probably better off finding another agency or boutique one. The KPIS are so extreme, Opus only cares about volume. It's about how much you're spamming clients and candidates rather than how much quality you're getting. There isn't much "way" to recruit, it is just about volume, volume, volume. If you spoke to 50 managers a day, you'll make Craig very happy :) Oh, the office in barangaroo is quite nice but? why need a nice office if your pay is so bad? Train here & go elsewhere if you're a junior.

Cons

Very low base Stress Arrogant managers Terrible culture, honestly. You get brought down constantly by managers, all they talk about are why aren't you hitting your KPIs. Everyone sleeps with each other in the office and I'm not even exaggerating.... the two TA's at Opus have a lot of stories to tell No work life balance You'll soon realise you work for stress, rather than for money This review sounds exaggerated I know, but try Opus at your own risk & you'll come back to this review and understand.

Culture of Denial

Pros

Consultants are all so lovely and generally speaking everyone is easy to get along with.

Cons

- Toxic culture of denial. The overwhelming number of recent 5-star reviews are very obviously written by the marketing and talent acquisition team to drown out legitimate criticism, completely reflective of a company more concerned with perception than people. - Mass redundancies and a revolving door. Staff are leaving at an alarming rate—often entire teams in a day. There’s no transparency, support, or care during these exits. - Leadership (what's left of it -some of the offices are operating with junior employees reporting into no one) is detached, with little to no interest in individual development or wellbeing. - Since being acquired, the focus has shifted entirely to cutting costs and pushing unrealistic targets, all at the expense of long-term health and employee experience. - Reputation in free fall. Clients and candidates are noticing the instability, and word is getting around in the market that they can't deliver. - Concerns are met with silence or inaction. Despite the mass exodus that has been ongoing for years now, no real attempt has been made to salvage the situation. Not sure it can be now.

Pros

Being run by motivating leaders when they knew what recruitment entailed / was.

Cons

Currently working as a bank rather than a talent partner, even though they can’t pay their contractors on time. Only care about the bottom line & not the people. Would ruin someone’s career for an extra dollar in the board members pockets.
