The opportunity
As a Senior Engineering Manager you will act as the custodian of Mirvac’s software engineering capability, leading a team of 5 within the Digital Products and Customer Platforms function.
This role is focused on driving modern engineering practices, including DevOps, platform engineering, and the effective use of AI, with the aim of enhancing developer productivity and improving software quality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Champion modern, product-centric engineering practices and reusable, component-based architecture

Act as the custodian of software engineering standards, practices, and technical quality across the organisation
- Contribute to enterprise architecture and digital modernisation initiatives

Establish and scale DevOps practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and automated testing

Improve deployment frequency, lead time, and system reliability through automation and engineering discipline
- Partner with Cloud and Infrastructure teams to embed secure, scalable platforms

Embed modern AI tools and techniques into the SDLC, including:
- Developer productivity tooling (e.g. code assistants, copilots)

Automated testing, code quality, and documentation generation

Intelligent incident management and observability

Drive improved engineering velocity, predictability, and cost efficiency
- Balance build vs buy decisions, leveraging platforms and partners where appropriate

Develop technical leadership capability

Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence
- Optimise use of partners and vendors without creating long-term dependency

Ensure engineering practices meet security, privacy, and regulatory requirements

Maintain strong alignment with Cyber, Risk, and Architecture governance
- Track and report on engineering performance, risks, and outcomes
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for an experience Engineer with at least 15 years’ experience in relevant software engineering roles and at least 5+ years’ experience in leading teams.
You'll also bring:
- Proven track record in stakeholder management and engagement up to executive level.

Strong knowledge and experience in modern platform architectures and engineering.

Strong understanding of control and governance requirements needed to ensure integrity of solutions.
