Reporting to the Director - Building Services Manager, you will lead the design and delivery of electrical building services design and documentation across a diverse range of building projects.
As the Associate Electrical Engineer, your responsibilities will consist of:
- Attending client and stakeholder design meetings;
- Managing key projects and coordinating both Electrical and MEP design delivery;
- Leading tenders and proposals;
- Obtaining and preparing detailed project plans, including budgets, time forecasts and resource planning;
- Overseeing the design and documentation of electrical design including fire detection and alarm systems across a range of building types;
- The procurement of new projects for the Electrical and wider JN team;
- Building key client relationships and business development opportunities; and
- Growing and developing an Electrical design team.
Your experience shall include:
- A relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering;
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience working within the Building Services industry, ideally within a consultancy;
- Proficiency in Electrical design of power, lighting, communications and security systems;
- Preferably strong experience in the design of fire detection and alarm systems (FDAS), emergency lighting and exit signage in accordance with AS1670, AS2293 and the National Construction Code;
- Sound knowledge of using PowerCAD and AGi32/Dialux software;
- Familiar with NBN/Ausgrid/Endeavour Energy/Essential Energy applications and requirements;
- Strong understanding of relevant Australian Standards including AS3000, AS3008 and the National Construction Code;
- Experience in managing multidisciplinary project teams;
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information of a complex nature both verbally and in writing with all stakeholders across disciplines, including colleagues and clients; and
- A personable work approach and the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
We enjoy monthly Accrued Days Off (ADO's) and as voted by the JN Team, we work in the office Monday, Thursday and Friday with flexibility to work from home on Tuesday and Wednesday.
