Great people but products are past their prime

Pros

The people you get to work with are great and the company pays well.

Cons

The products are all past their prime and many are positioned to fail. You often feel like you are trying to fill a bucket full of water but there is a giant whole in the bottom of the bucket. Upper management is either unaware of the product issues or are denying reality.

Great team members who make the most of a toxic environment

Cons

Upper management are more driving on statistics and number count than actual value of results.

Pros

- work from home - balanced amount of work per sprint - good people overall - interesting work (if you are put in the right team)

Cons

- people put their careers before common sense (projects are created only for the promotion of someone) - a lot of context-switching - focus on DEI (hiring non-suitable people just for the sake of having them in the statistics) - upper management has their own minds and doesn't listen to developers, forcing them to make bad architecture, leaving the project once they see the big issues

Pros

The perks are great: Paid Time Off, medical insurance, yearly bonus, Take1 program, etc.

Cons

There is no time to read, learn or grown, there is too much work and the supported products are complex. Upper management does not seem to realize how overworked the global support organization is.

Pros

Salary is great, attainable quota with quarterly spiffs and an annual bonus. No overtime needed, can work 100% remote or hybrid from the office. 3 weeks of vacation/year and 10 sick days/year.

Cons

Some pressure from upper management to build pipeline and meetings are not always converted into stage 1 opportunities by AEs. Broadcom acquisition currently in place, freezing hiring in certain BUs.

Pros

1. The culture of innovation is good. There are lots of opportunity to showcase your technical skills 2. Although a lot of talented people are leaving, (The OG VMware), you would still find good, talented folks around you. 3. Pay and WLB are good.

Cons

1. Upper management is clueless. They do not know how to drive the company. Execution is flawed 2. Talented people are leaving
