Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at VMware (Atlanta, GA (US)) in September 2019.

Interview

Contacted by recruiter online through Piazza, then went through a brief screening process. They sent an online coding assessment with 3 multiple choice questions (CS topics) and 3 coding problems. After getting through that, I was invited to their Atlanta location to undergo a series of interviews (4 total, each a mixture of technical and behavioral questions).

Interview Questions

  • Given two balanced binary trees, tree A and tree B, determine if B is a subset of A. Tree A has a very large number of nodes (e.g., 1 million), and tree B has a much smaller amount of nodes (e.g., 1000).   4 Answers

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at VMware (Atlanta, GA (US)) in September 2019.

    Interview

Online hackerrank interview first, then 4 45 min interviews onsite. There was a lot of sitting around with other candidates, one of the interviewers seemed stressed out. I should have prepared for anything other than operating systems questions.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at VMware.

    Interview

Had a screening interview with a University Recruter,
then an interview with the head of the dev team (),
then with the senior developer in that team,
then with a VP of Innovations,
with two employers from other departments of the company,
    then with team members again.
All interviews were held via Skype or on the phone (I'm from outside of US).

Everyone were super polite, intelligent, flexible, honest regarding their attitude towards the company and towards my candidacy, most interviews were almost casual conversations.
Mostly questions were a mix of personality, technical, IT trends, personal opinion related.
Two one hour task oriented interviews.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at VMware in January 2012.

    Interview

I applied online and my resume got pulled up by recruiter a number of weeks later for a different job. I had a phone screening with the recruiter, then another phone screen with my eventual interviewer. After getting through both screens I was invited to visit the HQ, which was a pretty fun trip. I spent a day there meeting a number of different people in the department and had a positive experience overall. Everyone there seemed intelligent, friendly, and excited about their jobs and the company.
