About QBCC
As Queensland's independent building and construction regulator, we play a critical role in protecting people, supporting industry and building trust in a system that touches every part of our community, from safe homes and liveable communities to jobs and economic security.
We support a $69 billion industry by protecting consumers, ensuring the industry is well supported, providing a safety net through the Home Warranty Scheme, and proactively delivering education.
A thriving building and construction industry benefits us all. But it only works when people feel informed, enabled and protected. That's where we come in.
We support industry, protect consumers and uphold standards. We make fair and transparent decisions, deliver services that build trust, and support a strong, sustainable industry.
About the role
In this role offers an opportunity to lead how data and AI drive real decisions across QBCC. You'll take charge of a complex cloud data warehouse - turning raw data into secure, trusted insights that stand up to public sector scrutiny. Partnering with BI analysts and experts, you'll build and deploy AI solutions end-to-end, set the standard for scalable, well-governed design, and create pipelines and platforms that unlock smarter ways of working. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in complexity and delivers impact where it matters most.
About you
You enjoy working where data, people and purpose come together. You've built AI and data solutions on platforms like AWS, Snowflake or similar, and know how to turn ideas into secure, scalable outcomes that people trust. You take ownership, hold high standards around governance and risk, and ideally bring experience from government or the public sector. Just as importantly, you're a calm, thoughtful leader - someone who builds trust, supports others to grow, and stays focused and solutions-driven when things get tough. Tertiary qualifications in a related field will further strengthen your application.
