The Role
The Middleware Developer for will be responsible for the development, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise integrations between middleware platforms (Boomi / PunchOut2Go), Coupa, and the various ERP systems used across the business. The role focuses on ensuring integrations are reliable, scalable, and well governed across complex enterprise environments.
The successful candidate will design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations while supporting system upgrades, releases, and enhancements across the integration landscape. This includes coordinating with ERP teams during system patching and upgrades, and supporting integration updates aligned with the Coupa quarterly release cycle.
The role requires strong hands-on experience with enterprise integration technologies including middleware platforms such as Boomi, web services, APIs, message queues, file-based integrations, process orchestration, and ETL processes. The successful candidate will also collaborate closely with infrastructure teams to ensure integrations operate efficiently across the network and application environments.
This position reports to the Coupa Global Middleware Lead and works closely with global and regional ERP, infrastructure, and Coupa support teams to ensure the effective prioritisation, development, and support of integrations and related system enhancements. This role will be offered residentially based in Townsville or Brisbane. We are offering 2days WFH and 3 days in the office for this position.
Your key responsibilities include:
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise integrations using Boomi across business applications and platforms
Support and maintain integrations between Coupa and multiple ERP systems, including SAP environments
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve integration failures, data issues, and performance bottlenecks
Design and implement robust integration patterns including APIs, file-based integrations, event-driven architectures, and message queues
Work closely with ERP teams to support system upgrades, patching, and release activities that impact integrations
Identify and resolve root causes of recurring interface issues to improve integration stability and reliability
Support integration updates aligned with the Coupa quarterly release cycle and other enterprise system changes
Document integration architecture, data flows, and system dependencies to support operational support and future development
Contribute to integration design standards and participate in global architecture and integration discussions
The successful applicant will possess/ability to:
Strong hands-on experience developing integrations using Boomi or similar middleware platforms
Experience integrating enterprise systems such as ERP, procurement, or finance platforms
Experience working in complex enterprise environments with multiple interconnected systems
Solid understanding of APIs, web services, ETL processes, message queues, and data transformation
Experience integrating with ERP platforms such as SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, or similar enterprise systems
Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve integration failures and data issues
Ability to design scalable, reliable, and maintainable integration solutions
Experience with Coupa, Ariba, or other Source-to-Pay platforms is advantageous but not essential
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work across technical and business teams
Qualifications
Degree, Diploma, or equivalent practical experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
Minimum 3 years’ experience working with middleware or enterprise integration platforms (e.g., Boomi, SAP PI/PO, MuleSoft or similar)
Boomi certification is desirable but can be obtained as part of the role
