I applied through employee referral with the same application and questions as the standard route. Got a rejection letter three weeks later. However, I proceeded to get a phone call a week after that saying that the rejection was a mistake and that I had passed the initial screening. I received an email a week after that phone call offering me a phone interview (competency based)
For the phone interview I researched the hell out accenture, latest news, ceo's, clients, ect.. What came up was interesting. I would 60-70% of the phone interview was about me, my experiences, teamwork ect. The rest was stuff like Why consulting? Why accenture? Why this particular role? What do you think you role entails (what is a typical day like)? Who are accenture's clients and competitiors (IBM, Deloitte..)
The interviewer seemed a bit tired and slightly out of it which scared me as I thought I was boring or not answering questions properly. However I think I answered everything quite well. I am still waiting for a reply for the next and final stage which is the face to face technical interview.
