What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of this position is to lead clinical costing and take responsibility for the ongoing maintenance, development and improvement of patient costing processes for all MNCLHD facilities and services.
As a member of the District Clinical Information Analysis and Performance Team, the role contributes to the LHD meeting mandatory NSW and Commonwealth clinical costing reporting requirements.
Within the LHD, the position provides accurate and timely costing data as well as education to assist senior executive, management and clinicians apply clinical costing data for decision making and manages the clinical costing application infrastructure, contracts and agreements with vendors, Health Support and MNCLHD.

You’re introduced as a professional with tertiary qualifications in a relevant health field or equivalent experience, and you’re immediately recognised for your highly developed management and leadership skills, the kind that inspire confidence and move teams forward.
You’re described as someone who understands the engine room of a large health organisation. You have a deep, demonstrated knowledge of financial and patient activity data, and you’re comfortable navigating financial statements, general ledgers and clinical information systems with precision. You’re equally strong in the specialised world of clinical costing, applying established principles and standards to support LHD management and producing reports that genuinely help senior executives, managers and clinicians make informed decisions.
People quickly see that you communicate with clarity and purpose. Your interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are matched by your ability to negotiate effectively and build strong, lasting relationships across NSW Health, state networks, Health Support Services, vendors and other key stakeholders. You’re the person who can bring groups together and keep them aligned.
Your organisational strengths stand out. You’re known for your analytical thinking, complex problem‑solving ability and calm handling of competing priorities, consistently delivering high‑quality outcomes even under tight deadlines. You’re also technically strong, with advanced capability in clinical costing systems, Microsoft Office applications and large‑scale data extraction, formatting, interpretation and manipulation.
You’re someone who shows up where you’re needed, supported by a current driver’s licence and the flexibility to travel as required.
