About the Role

The Manager of the Charter Education Program leads the Commission's Charter Education Program for the Victorian Public Service. The program has been a service of the Commission for nearly 10 years, delivering tailored client programs through face-to-face engagements as well as digital education services that are contemporary and respond to the changing needs of rights holders and duty bearers.

The role will also manage the Commission's other consultancy projects in line with strategic priorities relating to organisational reviews, leading practice strategies, education and action plans to advance equal opportunity and human rights.

The role is an opportunity to:

• Coordinate and lead the development and delivery of the Commission's Charter Education Program.
• Manage a small team to deliver Human Rights Solutions (HRS) consultancy projects, and provide professional development, feedback, mentoring, coaching and performance management.
• Coordinate the measurement, monitoring and evaluation of HRS projects, and analyse data to improve service delivery and continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships and foster partnerships to enhance the Commission's influence and impact.
• Work collaboratively within HRS to progress the Commission's vision, strategic plan, and branch workplan.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Content knowledge: Confidently demonstrates excellent knowledge and understanding of Victoria's Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities and other equal opportunity and human rights laws.
• Education skills: Demonstrates experience leading and managing education programs and cultural change projects, involving diverse stakeholders and multiple deliverables
• Leadership: Manages staff with positivity and kindness, guiding work to ensure business plan and organisational priorities are achieved, alongside individual staff development and growth.
• Project management: Develops and manages key projects, liaising with team members, anticipating and addressing issues, and negotiating key elements with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Stakeholder management: Creates and maintains lasting relationships with stakeholder groups and individuals, and partners with stakeholders to broker shared solutions in new areas.
• Consultancy skills: Works with the HRS team to grow audiences for the Commission's services and delivers high-quality, innovative and evidence-based consultancy services

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in human rights law or commensurate professional experience would be highly desirable.
