Primary objective
Lead and manage the Creative Solutions team in the provision of art direction, design and creative services to deliver creative
outcomes that advance Tourism & Events NT’s (TENT) strategic objectives. Procure and maintain systems, setting relevant policy
and processes that improve and maintain the collection, management, storage and distribution of all agency creative assets.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Develop and implement a creative strategy that encompasses art direction, design thinking and content innovation, working
in close collaboration with core TENT departments to ensure creative output aligns with core objectives and the NT’s Visitor
Economy Strategy 2032.
2. Provide day-to-day management, support and guidance to the Creative Solutions Team to ensure the unit meets set objectives
and deliverables.
3. Lead the art direction and creative concept development for in-house projects across digital, print, video, motion and social
formats – for a range of internal stakeholders to support the organisation with creative services.
4. Ensure and oversee the adherence by all stakeholders to the TENT suite of Brands and ensure any advice given and any
creative developed is in line with the brand guidelines.
5. Manage the day-to-day running of relevant platforms including but not exclusively, TENT’s Image Gallery, User Generated
Content (UGC) platforms, and internal collaboration platforms.
6. Implement systems, policies and processes that improve the collection, management, storage and distribution of all creative
assets to meet marketing and organisational requirements.
7. Manage and deliver relevant procurement and contract management needs for the Creative Solutions team.
8. Provide regular updates to the marketing leadership team and the wider organisation around monthly reporting, updates and
insights.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven hands-on experience in art direction, creative servicing requirements and design across all formats (digital, print, video,
motion and social), including a demonstrated portfolio of creative work developed within a marketing agency or in-house
creative environment.
2. Highly developed oral and written communication skills including the ability to develop policy, connect with stakeholders and
develop strong rapport and trust.
3. Ability to supervise and develop staff to ensure the achievement of targets within areas of responsibility.
4. Contemporary knowledge of technology trends, creative servicing advances and marketing best practice and ability to
understand, support and communicate decision rationale internally and externally.
Desirable
1. Demonstrated knowledge of the tourism sector preferably the Northern Territory and its destinations
2. Tertiary qualifications in graphic design, visual communication, art direction or a related creative discipline.
3. Working knowledge of large organisational/government procurement policy and guidelines.
